This beautiful 210 hp Hawk XP has been in the family for 23 yrs, lovingly cared for by my father-in-law, Stephen Najarian, and then, after his death in 2007, by me. It has been completely refurbished inside and out, and has had numerous upgrades. It is well equipped for light IFR and is a dependable, friendly craft that Steve and I have flown on many wonderful trips. 1909F actually started life in 1964 as a Cessna test bed for various engine/propeller configurations, including for the R172J Reims Rocket (hence the 210 hp engine). After this career, Cessna put in a new engine, refurbished or replaced other parts and brought it up to specs as a 1974 model R172J. The tach was zeroed (or replaced---I can’t tell from logs) at that time, accounting for the discrepancy between tach and total timeIt was owned by a gentleman in Colorado until 1987 when my father-in-law purchased it and brought it to PA. It has always been hangared and never been damaged.
